Maccabi Haifa football club The Maccabi Haifa football club, known also as the Greens, was founded in 1913. The club is a seven-time winner of the Israeli Premier League championship and five-times winner of the state cup finals. In the 2002/03 season the club had qualified for the first time in Israel`s history, to the UEFA Champions League. These accomplishments and also the fact that the team had sent year after year more than 15 players from its roster to different national teams in Israel (along with other foreign players to their national teams), made playing for Maccabi Haifa a dream come true for every player in the country.
